Void transactions

When a payment is processed the street address and postcode details are entered, we are then informed if these details match with the bank records and asked if we accept the transaction, If we get “data not matched” we decline to accept the transaction, i.e. we haven’t taken any money.

How this seems to work is that even though we have declined to accept the transaction i.e. we didn’t take, have the money, nor will it ever get to our account, the customers bank has reserved the funds and they generally don’t credit it back instantly. We have been told it can take up to three weeks to get back into the account but generally it’s a few days.

In theory the customers bank are reserving this money, even though we have declined to accept the transaction, this is nothing to do with us nor our bank and is completely beyond our control.

In this situation we can / will only confirm that the transaction was voided, any queries regarding this situation should then be referred to the bank in question.
